WARNING: Safety precaution
Electrical switching where transformer oil is a potential safety hazard must employ two workers for the task, working in a buddy system. The switching worker inside the arc flash protective boundary must be clothed in this Survive-ARC® Hot Oil Arc Flash Protective Suit. The second worker (buddy) clothed in full body FR PPC and PPE and armed with a powder fire extinguisher, must be on standby outside the arc flash protective boundary at a safe distance from a potential arc with hot oil splash – this can involve standing behind a protecting screen. In the event of an electric arc flash, the buddy worker must as soon as possible, but within 10 seconds, extinguish any flames that might be on the arc flash suit of the worker that has performed.
